So since its June lets talk about Cataract Awareness month…..which by the way is the whole month of June. What is a cataract? It is a clouding or darkening that develops in the clear lens of the eye. Cataracts affect more than 20.5 million Americans age 40 and older, and 6.1 million Americans have had cataract surgery. What are some common causes?

- Certain disease, diabetes
- Normal Aging
- Hereditary\ Congenital influences
- Some Medications
- Eye injuries
- Glaucoma
- Smoking
- So lets all do our part and get our eye exams regularly and not wait until we have a problem.
